Bond LSC Research Groups

The interdisciplinary research agenda in the Bond Center is being driven by advances in molecular and cell biology, genetics, bioinformatics and engineering, and particularly by the unifying concept of genetic interrelationships among all organisms. These concepts have emerged from studies on the mapping, sequencing and functioning of genes from humans, animals, plants and microorganisms. Currently, there are approximately 30 faculty investigators with their research teams now in residence in the Bond Center. The maximum occupancy of the Center is approximately 40 faculty investigators. Fully staffed with laboratory and support personnel, the Center is expected to hold about 280 people by the end of FY07. Synergistic scientific strengths of the investigators are coalescing around these research clusters:

Programming Cellular Development

Integrative Genomics: from DNA to Agriculture

Inflammation and Environmental Stress

Microbial Pathogenesis and Gene Therapy

Biophotonics

Integrative Plant Biology: from Molecules to Environment

Integrative Neuroscience: from Molecules to Behavior

Bioinformatics
