Bond LSC staff members crewed a cardboard boat across Bass Pro Lake in pouring rain during Float Your Boat for the Food Bank of Central and Northeast Missouri. Bond LSC raised $600 prior to the event and collected more donations from spectators during the event.

The Anoesis was not only unsinkable but undrenchable. Despite pouring rain — and several rain delays — the ship sailed.

“Missouri has the second highest rate of “very low” food security and is ranked sixth in the nation for food insecurity,” according to the Food Bank’s website. The Food Bank of Central and Northeast Missouri serves the community by making sure food is accessible to the people who need it through several food pantries, including mobile pantries, as well as providing meals for children when school is not in session.
